The Yoga of Herbs

“The right use of a plant or medicinal herb means sharing in its essence. Yoga reveals essence, the thing per se, leading to total revelation of material and spiritual potential.”

Ayurvedic herbal healing according to Vasant Lad and David Frawley

The daughter of a family of pharmacists, my curiosity about herbs and herbal healing was awoken very early standing next to my parents’ drawers full of medicinal teas. During my own pharmacy studies and career as a pharmacist, I was able to pursue and expand my knowledge about Traditional European Healing, Sowa Rigpa (traditional Tibetan medicine) and homeopathy. My husband, who has also been interested and inspired by herbs since his early childhood, and I share our enthusiasm for Ayurveda, reflected in all aspects of our life.

Most of all, we love the direct experience and contact as we collect herbs in our garden and surrounding countryside. In our teas, oils, tinctures, syrups and salves, we attempt to provide a new place for their “spirit”. We also rediscover their fragrance and flavor in our creative cuisine, a source of joy to the nose and palate.
